Hi Mark
I hope this new website of yours succeeds and thrives. A simple, yet brilliant concept bringing homeowners and contractors together without having to meet. Shall follow the progress with interest and may even use the concept over here in Sweden. Good luck /Paul

Alfresco outdoor infrared electric heaters have the ability to warm people or objects but not the air in between. This means that it is more efficient and energy saving because of the effective way the heat is transferred. The emitted heat is not affected by draughts because there is no wasteful heating of the air. The wavelength at which infrared is emitted significantly influences the effectiveness of the heating process. Perfectly matched infrared heaters can allow overall energy savings of up to 50%.

Inefficient Gas “Mushroom” Heaters are often less than 50% efficient and emit carbon monoxide and other hazardous gases as a by-product of combustion and burning fuel. By contrast, Alfresco electric outdoor energy-efficient infrared heaters convert over 90% of input energy directly into radiant heat, and operate for just 10pence per hour per KW hour.
There is no need to change or store pressurised gas cylinders and no annual servicing is needed. There are no unpleasant odours and with no moving part is virtually maintenance free.

I love the low lights in our garden. They provide just the right amount of light when me and my partner are sat relaxing in the hot tub.

I always thought a chandalier was a bit over the top but the more I think about it the more I want to get one.

They brighten up any room and add class to their surrounding, particularly in houses with high ceilings.

Bought a very old, beaten up wooden table that someone obviously had outside for a long time judging by the spider webs and dirt dobber nest - it's round and about the right size for two people to eat at. Want to cut the legs down to coffee table size to use in front of the sofa, but the legs are nailed in (with OLD nails) and glued VERY well and won't come off, except for one that was loose that I managed to partially wriggle off. Ideally, you'd unscrew all the legs and cut them down on a table saw to make sure they were all straight and even, but we can't do that. The table is not valuable, but I don't want to risk damaging it by trying to remove all the legs. Is there a way to leave the legs on and cut them down without too much room for wobbles?? What kind of tool do I need? All we have is a jigsaw; not sure if that will work. Any ideas are appreciated!! :)

This was helpful for me and very good information about wrought iron gates! We create custom glass that's installed inside wrought iron gate frames, and although I know about glass, I needed some information about gate frames and found your article very helpful. I will pass on to my clients the info. you included about maintenance as well this blog itself. Excellent home improvement info. Thank you!
